SPRING TIME REMINDERS
The City of Shelby is reminding its citizens of their obligation to keep their grass cut. Ordinance 662.01 states all grass must be kept no higher than 8 inches.
Ordinance 1060.02 states that any trash or trash containers cannot be placed at the curb for longer than 24 hours.
CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION TO CONDUCT AN EXAM FOR ENTRY LEVEL FIREFIGHTER
The Shelby Civil Service Commission will be conducting a competitive entry-level examination for the position of firefighter with the Shelby Fire Department. For further information requirements, please click here.
DIVSION OF ELECTRIC AND TELECOMUNICATION TREE TRIMMING
Oberlander's Tree Trimming Service has started the 2015 season in Ward 1. Trimming will be performed around our electric distribution lines. The Utility Office will provide updates on the city website, the Daily Globe and the Shelby Police Department Facebook page.

NEW TORNADO SIREN PROTOCOL
The Shelby Fire Department has released new protocol for the activation of tornado sirens. Please visit the Fire Department page for more information.
ROBERT LAFFERTY TO RETIRE
Shelby Director of Finance and Public Record Robert Lafferty will retire in May of 2015. A replacement will be named, with confirmation by City Council, by Mayor Steven Schag to fill the remainder of the Mr. Lafferty's term which ends on January 1, 2016.
