Seltzer Park

Seltzer Park is located east of Mansfield Avenue and south of Parkwood Drive. Seltzer is the largest park in Shelby, and has many amenities, including: two large Pavilions, a wooden Playscape area, Tennis and Basketball courts, the Pools, and Seltzer Stream meanders through this park to make a nice setting for get together's.

The park maintenance garage is also located in this park.

The South Pavilion is located on Glenwood Drive. This pavilion will seat 80 people and overlooks the lake and Seltzer stream. Features at this location are; two handicap accessible tables, handicap accessible restrooms, electricity, water, grills, and horse shoe pits. There is also a ball field nearby.

The Playscape is within walking distance of the South Pavilion in Seltzer Park and features an 8400 square foot wooden play area for children ages 3 to 14. This playscape was financed from private funding and built using community volunteers in 1994. The Playscape is located at the corner of Bradley Ave and Woodland Dr.

The North Pavilion seats about 140 people and is located below Seltzer Pool on Parkwood Drive. This pavilion also overlooks a lake and Seltzer stream. Handicap accessible restrooms are a short distance away. There is a playground area for children of all ages.

The Main Pool is “L” shaped and contains 230,000 gallons of water, has a 1 meter diving board and a 108 foot water slide.

The wading Pool is for kids 6 and under and contains 4,900 gallons of water.

Seltzer Pool will open June 1, 2013 and close on August 19, 2013. The pool will reopen on the weekends of August 24-25 and August 31-September 1. Hours of operation are 12:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Monday through Saturday and 12:00 P.M to 6:00 P.M. on Sundays, unless weather conditions are unfavorable.

Daily Pool rate is $4.00. Kids 3 and under have free admission.

Passes for individual and families are available. Organizations using the pools daily should contact the Pool Manager for pricing. Pool Ph. #419-347-2312

Passes can now be purchased at a $5.00 pre-season discount at Shelby City Hall, 43 West Main Street, Shelby, OH 44875, until June 1, 2013 or at the pool office on May 30-31 between the hours of 12-2 and 4-6. After June 1st, passes are available at the Pool Office during business hours.

$110 Family of four or under - Inside City Limits
$160 Family of four or under - Outside City Limits
Family member over four are charged $15.00 each

There will be 3 opportunities for swimming lessons this year:

June 10-14: Sponsored by Seltzer Pool

June 24-28 Sponsored by Seltzer Pool

July 15-19: Sponsored by Seltzer Pool

Lessons sponsored by Seltzer Pool are $15 per student for 5 days with registration at the pool office any time prior to the start of lessons.

AGE GROUP AND TIMES

3 and 4 year olds (must be potty trained): 11:00 A.M.-11:30 A.M.

Kindergarten and First Grade: 10:30 A.M.-11:00 A.M.

Second thru Fourth Grade- 10:00 A.M.-10:30 A.M.

Advanced Swimmers: 9:30 A.M.- 10:00 A.M.

*If skills are above or below the scheduled times, we will move the swimmer to a more appropriate class after the first day!

*Reminder, parents are not allowed inside the gates during class time to prevent distractions away from the instructors.

Rental Information

Pavilions at South Seltzer, North Seltzer, Rabold and Veterans can be reserved by contacting City Hall at 43 W. Main St., Shelby, Ohio Ph #419-347-5131. Reservations are made May through September. These pavilions have electricity, water and grills.

$30 if you live within the City limits
$40 if outside the City limits.

Pool can be rented Monday through Saturday from 7:30 P.M. to 9:30 P.M. and from 6:30 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. on Sundays. A deposit of $40 is required at the time of reservation, with the balance due prior to rental. Rentals are scheduled at the Pool Office. Rates are as follows:
