The Service Department of Shelby Municipal Utilities is comprised of three
divisions (Sewer, Streets, and Water) that work together to provide quality
services to the customers of Shelby.
The citizens will see them doing many various tasks, from snow removal to repairing water and sewer lines, leaf pick-up, sign and street maintenance, brush removal, and creek maintenance to name a few.
In order to provide service to our customers, interruptions to service
are quickly resolved as employees are on call 24 hours a day, seven days
a week to handle snow and ice problems and to correct any problems occurring
on the City’s water or wastewater delivery systems.
Being highly visible to the public as they work along or near streets throughout the City, the department practices work safety in order to protect employees while fulfilling our commitment to provide service in a responsive and reliable manner.
